Part of the problem is "drug education" in schools are really lies. The kids figure that out real quick. They then stop listening.

For example, they are told cannabis is equivalent to hard drugs, like heroin and cocaine. They figure out it's a lie, therefore all of the "drug education" is a lie.

No, I am not advocating kids should abuse any drug. But good research shows that if they are told the truth about all drugs, starting wit the legal ones (alcohol, cigarettes), they will listen when it comes to the hard drugs. What happens is: the kids try the legal ones, figure out they were told the truth, then listen to the rest of the class, and determine they will not want to use the hard drugs.

I had a conversation with a DARE "instructor". I asked what his qualifications were. He said he had passed the course and had the certification. I asked how much pharmacology, psychopharmacology, and brain chemistry classes he had taken. Not surprising, he said "none". I then asked again what was his qualifications for teaching drug education. Again, he had "passed the DARE class".

Kids figure out they are being lied to. "We" adults need to tell kids the truth.

Barbara, I don't think you lied to Kevin. The education system did, and you were left to pick up the pieces.
